Mission and Vision: First Assembly Christian School educates in a manner consistent with a biblical worldview so that students are prepared for college and "equipped to live for God's glory."

FACS strives continually to improve curricula and instruction, biblical worldview training, and technological capability in order to prepare students for life.

For more than a half century FACS has taught from a biblical worldview, promoting academic excellence, spirit-led vision, moral courage, emotional balance, cultural understanding, and physical fitness. In 1999, the school and its counterpart the First Assembly Memphis Church moved to what is now a 55-acre campus in Cordova. The main church and school building are known for its beautiful spire atop the highest point in Shelby County.

Students at FACS are viewed as unique individuals and are encouraged to develop their God-given talents and abilities. The administration cultivates an environment of learning as a cooperative effort involving a host of FACS stakeholders which includes parents, students, faculty, staff, school board, and the community.

“At FACS, we understand that parents want a quality education for their children,” said Head of School Dr. Brian Sanders. “Being a partner school with M.O.S.T. allows more families this opportunity and also grants us the opportunity to welcome more students into all the great things that we offer at FACS."

Students have access to two full-size gymnasiums; two dining halls; the fine arts music wing for chorus and band; a multi-purpose room with theatre staging, lighting, and sound; spacious multi-purpose activity rooms for children and youth; well-equipped science, computer, and art labs; and beautiful worship spaces for chapel and musical performance.

Two years ago, FACS unveiled its state-of-the-art SmartLab, a partnership with Creative Learning Systems. The space is designed to open doors of opportunity for students, allowing them to lean into their creativity and empower their minds to innovate. The FACS SmartLab is available for all students to use.

“Since 1972, FACS has sought to offer quality education in a Christ-centered environment, rivaling that which can be found in any secular institution,” said Dr. Sanders. “We strive to build a culture that honors Jesus Christ, one another and the community. Students learn Christian values and develop their gifts in academics, athletics and the creative arts in a safe, nurturing environment.”
