How MOST Awards Scholarships
MOST is a privately-funded, non-profit organization that exists to help Memphis-area families who would not ordinarily be able to consider the option of private elementary and secondary schools. During the 2011-2012 school year, MOST is supporting 537 students with partial scholarships totaling approximately $785,000 at nearly 70 Memphis-area private schools. It is the privilege of MOST to partner with parents, helping ensure that each student is in the most appropriate educational environment for him or her.
Qualification for MOST’s elementary-age scholarships is based on financial need. Depending on the family's income, scholarships are worth up to a maximum of $1,500 per elementary-age child for a single year. The scholarship continues through eighth grade as long as the family remains financially eligible and is in good standing with the school. Students already receiving a MOST scholarship will be eligible to apply for a merit-based MOST High School Scholarship during the second semester of their 8th grade year. Starting in the 2012-2013 school year, the high school scholarships will be worth up to $2,000, thanks to a generous donor who is committed to helping our MOST High School Scholars graduate from their chosen school.
