Program Requirements

MOST has several requirements for participating in the scholarship program.

Re-Qualification Paperwork:  MOST families must show proof of their financial eligibility each year by submitting a new Re-Qualification Form and documentation of all prior year’s income.  This must be submitted by the stated deadline (2012’s deadline is March 30) or families risk losing the scholarship.  Please note that this deadline is before the federal government’s tax deadline, so you will need to complete your tax return early in order to submit it to MOST on time.

Scholarship Verification Reports (SVRs): Twice a year, MOST will send SVRs to the school and the school will contact the parents and guardians about coming in to sign the form, verifying the students’ continued enrollment at the school.  MOST will not make the scholarship payment for any student whose form has not been signed.

Financial Responsibility: Families must stay current on tuition payments.  MOST will generally let the school and family work out any financial difficulties between themselves and establish payment plans, but if the school determines that a family is not acting in good faith and requires that student be withdrawn, MOST will also withdraw its scholarship funding as of the date the student leaves the school.

Attendance: Students must maintain an attendance rate of 90% or better.  If the rate falls below this, the school must provide an explanation for the excessive absences/tardies, and MOST will make a determination as to whether they were excusable or not.

Grades:  There is no GPA requirement for 8th grade and below.  However, in order to apply for the MOST High School Scholars Program, 8th graders must have at least a “C” average.  MOST High School Scholars must achieve the following GPAs in order to receive a scholarship for the following year:

  •  9th grade - 2.5
  • 10th grade - 2.75
  • 11th grade - 3.0
